About Me & Why Work With Me?

Hypnotherapy has helped to positively change the lives of so many and I am an active practitioner of the techniques I teach. I understand first-hand the challenge we can sometimes face in life, and it is this personal experience that drives me. I am highly skilled and fully committed to help others. I seek to truly see and hear my clients and approach the difficulties they face with compassion, understanding and the expertise necessary to help them. I have studied extensively, and I deeply care about the emotional welfare of others. I have a passion for helping my clients achieve their aims whilst recognising this is their journey and not mine. I am a lecturer, a supervision, a father. I continue to research and test the latest brain-based science to discover what works best and how to use this knowledge to help others.

I have helped hundreds of clients over the last decade achieve outstanding results, often more than they thought was possible. By working with their subconscious, focusing on a preferred future and teaching them how to cope better, they have founds ways to improve and then thrive. This is the most rewarding aspect of my work, it’s the reason I do what I do. I am passionate about the transformative power we all have within us, and I’m fascinated by the power our thoughts have over our bodies. Harnessing the power of the mind-body connection creates momentum and positive change, beneficial moments and builds the confidence necessary to face life’s challenges, whatever they may be and whenever they appear.

Richard was born in Ealing, London in the 1970’s and went to Emanual School in Clapham. He studied at the University of the West of England and became self-employed at the age of 23 in Bristol. He moved back to London in 2002 and now lives in Brighton with his son. He has a hypnotherapy practice in Clapham and one in Brighton as well as holding on-line sessions which he began long before the lock-down changed the way we work today. with many clients requesting to see him from overseas.
Richard has faced many personal struggles and many difficult situations, all of which have all been an essential part of his learning journey. During these difficult times he felt the tools on offer where just not fit for purpose. Richard does not talk about his past difficulties with his clients, but he does understand the personal nature of struggling with trauma, emotion and physical difficulties.

For 13yrs he worked in a high stake’s sales environment in Central London, stress was built in and the applied pressure relentless. He loved the challenge and but always felt there was a better way to operate and a better way to approach stress, this led him towards studying to become a mental health practitioner and ultimately a Clinical Hypnotherapist. The job regularly affected his mentally and physically health although through sport and music he had the outlets to manage. The catalyst for a change in career came with the sudden passing of a best friend. This was the fourth close friend Richard has lost and compounded by his other experience the damn broke. It was Clinical Hypnotherapy that helped him come to terms with yet another traumatic event and what he learnt was transformative in so many ways. It was the missing information he did not know he was looking for and it was life changing in so many ways.  Clinical Hypnotherapy is evidence based, it’s routed in science, extremely well researched, it is practical, it is an experience you can monitor and measure, and it is always evolving & refining and technology and our understanding of the brain becomes more refined.

Richard is fascinated by the mind-body connection, was introduced to hypnosis via a sports coach in the 1980’s and has used it in so many ways over so many years, from achieving in sport and life to coping with death and divorce. Richard truly understands the impact our thoughts have on our lives and how we can change the way we see the world to achieve our aims and create the stability, confidence security and balance needed to live a full and happy life.
