 I’m giving Rich a 5 star rating for his therapy skills. He’s very good and helped me achieve something quite amazing. I felt driven to sign up for an organised white collar boxing match in aid of charity. I’m not one for confrontation and was quite apprehensive about doing it but wanted to achieve something a little extraordinary. I was well out of my comfort zone. Every time I stepped into the ring for sparring my pulse skyrocketed, my breathing went wild and I lost all composure. Rich really helped me visualise being in the ring, practice boxing movements in my mind and brought calmness to an ordeal. I’m not a great sleeper anyhow, which became worse with match day anticipation. Rich’s sessions, communication, useful analogies and gentle mind exercises I practiced at home took all the apprehension away and I slept really well even on match day morning. Just recently a friend remarked how calm I was. Match day was still quite brutal but I was quite calm considering it could’ve been quite a traumatic experience. Thank you, Rich.

 I recently worked with Richard at the Milton Group Practice to help with my overall anxiety and more specifically my fear of enclosed spaces. I was struggling with simple train & tube journeys and an upcoming flight was becoming a challenge. I had several Zoom meetings with Richard and his calm presence and enthusiasm for his solution based therapy were very effective in helping me reframe my perspective and lower my anxiety levels in specific situations. I would highly recommend Richard if you are looking for a constructive and practical approach to dealing with stressful challenges in your life.

 When I first went to see Richard I was fairly in the dark about Solution Focused Hypnotherapy, but after strong recommendations that I see him for a couple of life challenges, I went along. The whole process and Richards’s approach was enlightening and extremely helpful for the situation. Richard’s calm manner and ability to listen and tailor a talking therapy that works through what is going on in our heads is fascinating. After ten insightful sessions or so I left Richard armed with practical tools to tackle the challenges that life throws at you. I highly recommend.

(A fantastic piece of serendipity) Richard gave a realistic estimate of the time it would take to guide me through my issues. Every session brought me closer to my goals.  I was recommended Richard/hypnotherapy through my cousin. It started with an initial consultation call to see if it was the right therapy for me. Instantly, Richard made me feel at ease and comfortable. I had recently gone through a divorce and my confidence was at an all-time low and my anxiety was at an all-time high. I had never really experienced anxiety like it before. I was lucky enough to have most of my sessions in person but the Zoom ones were still really effective. It was really refreshing to know that Richard’s hypnotherapy was a 4-8 week process, so a weekly session for about 5 weeks, then we moved to fortnightly, then once a month until I felt ready (although I always knew I could go back for a ‘top-up’ session at any time). From the very first session, it had an immediate impact. Richard was able to educate me about the brain and behaviour and then teach me strategies to break the cycle of anxiety. It really made such a difference for me and I regularly find myself saying reminders from our sessions in my every day life now. The hypnotherapy part of the session (which was always at the end) was so powerful. I always left each session feeling so calm, peaceful and positive. The strategies and knowledge I gained from him will never leave me and I will be forever grateful that I was lucky enough to receive the therapy. It changed my life.

 I started seeing Richard after a recommendation from a friend after I experienced trauma. He is warm, accommodating and really supportive when I felt overcome and struggled to verbalise myself. His strategies are realistic and tangible. He explains why you feel the way you do and normalised what I struggled with. His sessions were a mix of learning, sharing, problem-solving and hypnotherapy. As someone who had never considered therapy, I highly recommend his sessions to help you whatever the problem may be. He is very flexible and can be seen online or in person. The best part is that Richard actively encourages you to learn to thrive without him and so after several sessions, I now am in a much better place.

 I cannot recommend Richard at the Milton Practice highly enough! I started seeing him to address my teeth grinding, and I was initially a bit nervous, unsure of what to expect. However, Richard's warm and welcoming approach quickly put me at ease. He explained the science behind sleep and how our brains create pathways related to stress and anxiety, which really helped me understand my issue better. Over several in-person sessions in Clapham and some via Zoom, I noticed significant changes. I grind my teeth much less now and have started incorporating the insights Richard shared into my daily life. What impressed me most was Richard’s flexibility and accommodating nature; he genuinely wants to help without overwhelming you. His encouragement throughout the process was incredibly helpful. If you're looking for a skilled hypnotherapist, Richard is the one to see!

 Richard's sessions, which were done completely online, transformed not only my wellbeing but my whole outlook on life. I could feel an improvement after the first session, which came as a pleasant surprise. Through the personalised charts I also got a visual representation of the progress before and after each session. I'm deeply grateful to Richard who is professional, knowledgable as well as warm and I would recommend his sessions to anyone who wants to improve any area in their life.
