Clinical Hypnotherapy is an evidence based, compassionate, talking therapy focusing on finding solutions to a preferred future. By understand of what can be done, rather than looking at the symptom, cause or problem, it is possible to escape from the past, work in the present and move towards a more positive future. Once something unwanted has occurred (or a physical symptom has developed), we often become fixated on the problem, trauma or difficulty, Often seeking to understand ‘why’ and focussing on what has been lost or unwanted.
Research shows a solution focused, compassionate and forward-thinking approach is more effective at creating and maintaining and perfecting significant beneficial change. A Clinical Hypnotherapist will look at what a person can do to improve their situation, explore how they are coping now and what is working for them, rather than focusing on the problem, symptom or cause. Accessing the subconscious mind, creating a relaxed mindset and engaging progressive muscle relaxation techniques creates new neural pathways which allow for constructive critical thinking to occur, and for the brain to begin the process of rewiring itself through neuroplasticity. Addressing the underlying anxiety, stress &/or depression related to the situation, allows an individual to take back emotional control and open the door of opportunity to positive change whilst also alleviating the physical symptoms and enhancing the bodies natural heal & repair modes.
Hypnosis or trance is a natural human condition. Clinical Hypnotherapy seeks to utilise this phenomenon in a safe, controlled and supportive manner to help individuals unlock any subconscious resistance to the positive changes a person desires. By entering the trance state under clinical care, it is possible to implement positive, constructive and beneficial change and begin the process of rewiring the brain by tapping into our neuroplasticity. Every client journey is unique however all journeys begin with a single step. During Clinical Hypnosis we seek to build the stage to allow the mind and body to perform to their best ability. This approach is adaptable to the individuals needs and a specific treatment plan can be created and monitored to ensure progress is made and to understand what may be exasperating the situation.
Hypnotherapy is a complimentary treatment and works well alongside almost all other treatments plans. Many individuals will use Hypnotherapy in conjunction with other health care professionals. For example to help a person cope whilst going through Chemotherapy, to prepare for an operation or to recover from an injury. A guide to the likely number of sessions required is assessed at the initial consultation stage, when an assessment can be made and a treatment plan created. Always consult with your Doctor or G.P. Practice about any symptoms or conditions you may have before you start treatment via Hypnotherapy.
